I remember as a kid having a gold plated brass example; I have no idea of it's subsequent fate, but it did eventually inspire me to acquire a genuine Spade Guinea for my collection. Spade Guineas were specifically mentioned and given a tariff value, in a Proclamation relating to the first officially recognized currency of the Colony of New South Wales.
