I have been taking a break from coins so I finally had a chance to post my findings!

I was questioning the possibility of this being a DDO because at the bottom of the 2nd 9, it has split serifs, but also at the same time, it is heavily circulated with TOO many die scratches. The field going through IN GOD is raised.

On the reverse, I noticed a raised area to the right of the memorial that looks like an I or V?

Thoughts?

Looks normal to me with a circulation tick on the second 9.

Looks like 1989 DDO-003:

There is a long die scratch under the ERT area on the Liberty that looks like a match? But that is only one close match. I always require three to know for sure.

1989 DDO-006, has a few more matching scratches. So you might compare these?

This one looks like the best choice so far. Check the die scratch pattern with your coin.

Yes and no.

The split on the last 9 you pointed out appears to be just a contact mark.

But it is DDO-006 as Coop pointed out, doubling and die scratches match. DDO-006 is a Class VI doubled die so it mostly shows as extra thickness. Notice how the openings of the 8 are not circular as they should be, the tails of the 9s are thicker the the curves, and the bottom of the first few letters of LIBERTY appear pointed.

It's weird how many times I've seen DDO-006. I think I have two.

@Tanman as I recall, Wexler lists two doubled working hubs for this date. Could DDO-006 be one of them? Would explain why you've seen so many.

@SamCoin No. I have two of this exact die, die scratches and all. It's just that I personally don't come across 80's DDs all too often, but I have seen this exact die multiple times now. Probably just coincidental.

Strange, I have a couple that I also seem to encounter weirdly often. I have two 2006 WDDO-024s and four 2006 DDOs in total.

O gosh thank you!! Sorry I haven't had a chance to respond! I have been SO busy!

@coop , especially having most of the die markers, would we even consider DDO-006 because it has a die crack at the bottom right of the memorial?

I think its worth mentioning that I think there is some traces of doubling under the O in ONE and possibly separation lines on the S in PLURIBUS? Possible notching on bottom of U and left side of NUM in UNUM? See any splits? I also noticed possible thickness in the designer's initials?

Could it be a combination of a DDR?

If you see any splits of any serifs, let me know!

I appreciate all of your feedback! So grateful!

@NotoriousABE Not seeing anything on the reverse, and I would be pretty surprised if there had been a die pair with a known DDO that also had a DDR and no attributor had noticed it or seen one of them yet.
