Roll of 1994 D"s Found this interesting mint mark. I know NO RPM's on the new coin's I now am giving my self title of Coin Master Attribution Specialist. So I am going to call this a 1994 D DDO-Mint Mark. now I sound like most sellers on ebay. IZA Gonna be RICH

Looks like a combination of Machine Doubling and Split Plating Doubling.

Yes it has a lil split plating going on but the inside of the D and the out side is rounder not flat as MD would show that's why I said it's a odd mintmark. Paging DR.Coop

As mentioned it is not a DDO. Why the surface looks so nice, it that the dies that struck your coin, were very fresh. So you have an early die state coin. Note how the fields look so fine. All the devices are fully formed. Just a few lines staring on the mintmark area. So because of the condition of the coin, it just looks so much better. That is why many think they are doubled dies, when they aren't. Your not the first one to think that.

Even doubled dies look better in this die state:

It is not just the fields, but the devices as well add a look to the coin. So with seeing so many not in this die state, they do stand out to the eye, as something is different and often thought as a doubled die.
