I found this crh a few weeks ago. I think it is finally a woody. Could you please help me identify it? Thanks in advance.

To me that looks more like a cent that was plated, and now the plating is wearing off. Woody texture comes from improper mixing of metals in the coin. So you need to decide if its on the surface or is in the metal.

I would not call that a woody.

@sheldius It is in the metal. It has been soaked in acetone and paint thinner. It is not plating either.

Notice the rim no effect showing on it, my vote is for environmental toning

Excuse me, can you help me to understand perhaps with some photos the meaning attributed to the woody coin? Thank you.

A closer-in photo of a portion of the coin--taken at a slight angle--might help. Thanks.

I know the photos are bad. I took them using smartphone. Sorry about that. Canera setup is out of battery.

I really believe this is NOT a woody . To be honest it has an eye appeal of 5/10 .

I'm not feeling a woody either. Just post mint damage.

p.s.- Always post both sides of the coin for us. Thanks.

Looks to be a combination of roller lines , fingerprints and some type of environmental toning that has worn off of the high points.

Sorry to say and put out the wish to have a woody coin, but this one is far to be woody effect of the alloy.
