Can we have a hint what we're looking at?

We need to know what it is and see some clearer photos. Also a copper post 82 or something like that should be in Modern Variety and Error forum. It is a Lincoln Cent if that is what you are wondering.

Excited about finding a cent? I wonder what would happen if OP found a dime!

Its a small date 82 brass cent, and judging the condition with the picture provided, its worth one cent.

The OP is in California (as I) so if I was just starting out I'd be very happy to find a small date copper Philly in that condition...Nice find, good hole filler, best of luck with future finds.... ...and keep posting when needing answers

And just to ilustrate... This was a swag bag item I got at a Seattle coin show back in 1983. I'm totally amazed I remembered this evening where it's been tucked away all these years since. (I don't collect US coinage.)

I think there was a small date 1982 D that was struck in bronze planchet, that's the one worth a good chunk of change.
