I was looking at copper coins and wanted to learn about the differences in weather other type coins are doing better or worse, not to say they are doing any sort of way. I'm wondering on the markets I think if that makes sense. I hope this made sense. Thanks!...

As an ANA member I've seen a spike in new membership, largely fueled by the recent pandemic. Also, at a recent local coin show, these new and young collectors are not shy about spending money. What I've seen them buying was quite surprising. Obsolete coinage. Three and two-cent pieces. As far as the cent goes, a series which will always be number one in the hobby, I think the Indian Head is on a rise. Not only among the new collectors but those seasoned as well. Just a few of my observations.

Any scarce coin in high MS++ condition will always do well in the long term.
Quote told to me by a coin dealer decades ago:- " The rare coins get rarer, the common coins stay common". That is reflected in long term pricing trends.

Quote:That leaves room for me to hoard all the Mercury dimes that nobody cares! Sadly I picked up a few Mercury and Roosie Dimes and they are also about double the price :( seems like all lower cost coins have increased by a lot while higher cost are up also, especially certified coins.

Hoarding large numbers of coins of a particular type date and mm is a bit more of a beard-scratcher.
I would suggest having a distinct preference for anything in higher grades, the more common ones in high MS++ grades. These are the sorts of lots of coins that dealers at coin shows find easier to sell. There is always scarcity, (and therefore higher potential demand), in top graded coins.
