I am currently on vacation and metal detect for a hobby. I found what seems to be a silver metal cob from the 16th or early 17th century. I found it about 10+" deep on the beach right below where the water washes stuff up on shore. At first I thought it was real but with going over more and more feel like it is poured silver. The design seems too wavy with bubbling in the metal. The images on it also seem to be lacking quality compared to other coins of this era. I also am unsure from the seem on the edge but ignored that at first since maybe a stamping could cause that, but the more I view it the more it seems poured. I found it in north Carolina near Wilmington. I have a scale but will unable to weigh it till I get home in a couple of days So any info would help and more opinions on its authenticity would be appreciated.

If you search the forum for "pirate coin" there are many of these being found...

This is how they start out....

And as they are not made of silver but some cheap modern material they end up like this,
