1958 D Wheat Penny Mint Mark Touching 9 ? Error ?

The d is completely attached to the 9 and small portion of nine is missing due to the mm.
Is this a common error?

Mint marks were placed by hand back then, thus, the mark's position could (and did) vary. Not an error.

Anywhere below the date and to the right of the bust was the "target" area when the die was punched with a mint mark.
There would have have been hundreds of thousands struck with the mm in that same spot so it is not rare.

I agree, not an error. Mint mart slightly bumped the nine, so no big deal. No premium, sorry. Keep searching!

In 1956 there was a RPM that was on the '9'.

On later die states, the RPM faded out until gone on them.

If is not the touching the '9' that makes this a RPM. It is the splits on the mintmark that makes this a RPM.
