Question: On this die information, did you read the description: Quote:
Description: Strong spread but weak hubbing on upper first 96 of date.
The only area for this coin to be a doubled die is on those devices on the date. These rest of the all the other devices are normal. So did you look at the '96' on the date area? That is normal. So your coin is normal. So even if everything matches up except the items in the description, then the coin is normal. This side shows almost all of the devices on every listing. Why? Because there could be die scratches on the other devices that would match up to that die stage. The markers are there to confirm the die stage. Hope this helps. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=mdsOn coppercoins it is die 003, but is the same die. That is the areas to look at.

with coop, the genuine DDO #1 is so obvious no magnification is needed; the doubling is extremely evident across all devices. The odds if finding one of those is minuscule, since there are probably less than 25 known. But shockers do indeed get found, so there might be a couple yet to be found out in the wild.

Also the mintmark locations are slightly different. Take an envelope and place the bottom edge on the tips of the '9' on both images and see where the mintmark location are? The OP's coin is a shade lower. The RPM-002/1MM-003 show the mintmark a bit higher. That is a quick way to tell. Regardless of the sizes of the images, the locations will appear the using this method.

I think you are right in that it's worth looking at, that's how you find the good stuff and that's 99% of what we do here. Keep up the hunt!

Coop said it all. Not a DDO. @IsThisAnything If you're saying you think this a DDO, you are wrong and need to read Coop's explanation as well.

Sam, not at all what I'm saying. Just saying that if you think something is off about a coin, it's worth a closer look. Sometimes, you find something, sometimes you don't, but don't be afraid to post or ask questions because that's how we learn.
