I'm having trouble identifying this coin or amulet. I think its from Emperor Mu Zong 1862-1874. I'm leaning more towards it not being currency because no denomination on the back only double dragons. It looks like silver. It measures about 39mm wide and weighs 20.1 grams. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you have the correct emperor?
Could it be Chien-lung 1736-1796?
Maybe a tourist piece?

Front reads Qian Long Tong Bao: https://coinquest.com/cgi-bin/cq/co...l?coin=16568

But reverse is something else, likely some tourist trinket

From the fabric of the 'coin', it appears that it may be struck, or spun pressure cast, and therefore not contemporary.

Still be possible for it to be a genuine but more modern amulet, or perhaps even genuine trinketry, in both cases with no attempt to deceive.

With the dragons on the rev, this looks like a modern tourist charm to me.

I did a quick check and found a number of Double Dragon Amulets with different emperors among them.
Also known as Good Luck Charms.
Easy to find browsing internet.

@albert, I'm sure that you know way more about this than I do. I was thinking that the original charms had a dragon and a phoenix (i.e. were wedding charms), whereas any design might appear on a modern one.

I really don't know charms or amulets at all.
I just notice similar features because those are often seen among my coin reference books.
I'm sure there may be old original genuine items as well as many modern reproductions & varieties.
To me, the Chinese words look too much like some of the poorly formed characters among some of my modern fakes of coins.
Especially at 6:00 and 9:00.
Those have the very same likeness matching some present day fakes I've documented among some of my non-genuine coins.

edit: I forgot to mention that yes, there is a genuine charm from this emperor back in the day, but it didn't have the Double Dragon.
