Well, I do have an 1883 Liberty nickel and since I am new to this forum I am sure some of you could tell me the value or invalue of this particular nickel. And in regards to the 1913, where can I take it for authentication?

Welcome to the forum merty

Well pictures of the 1883 would help to determine grade and then a price can be given accordingly.

As for the 1913, there is no need to take it anywhere for authentication. All 5 minted are known. But if you still believe it to be real you can send it to a TPG (third party gradind company). They charge to do this and the fees vary per company.

. of the coins if you can. As stated, all 5 1913's have been accounted for but, there are certain diagnostics in the date, most specifically, the 3, that will tell you it's authenticity. I am sure it's an altered date.

Welcome, Merty!

Well, finding out that there are only five known examples explains why I've never been able to put together a whole roll of them.....

Welcome to the forum!

The value of the 1883 'No Cents' nickel will depend on its grade (condition). Here is a link to an online guide with retail values for various grades of Liberty nickels. (It is interesting to note that the 'With Cents' variety is more valuable, even though a lot more of them were made. Everyone saved the 'No Cents' nickels, so there are more of them around today.)
