Resembles a Kushan or Kidarite stater with Ardoksho/Ardoxsho reverse. But that doesn't appear to be gold. Or is it? (Debased, maybe?) I can't really tell.

Hopefully this catches the attention of Kushanshah.

I agree with Bob L. about Kushan or Kidarite. I see several somewhat similar coins under the Kushans at coinindia.com -- you could look for a match there.

For best results with ID requests the weight to the nearest tenth of a gram, maximum diameter to the nearest mm, and metal should be posted.

I can't recall having seen anything quite like it but my visceral reaction is "bogus".

I'm definitely a bit out of my wheelhouse on this one--pretty interesting to look at though.

This piece certainly seems to have at least a passing similarity to Kidarite gold. Here is a comparison between the OP's coin and coin #23 from Joe Cribbs, "The Kidarites, The Numismatic evidence".

If we take Spence's coin as a model, the first issue is that on the obverse of the Cribb coin, to the right of the king, we have a legible Brahmi inscription. On the op, just a couple of wavy lines. In general, it's vice-versa; the types degrade as time goes on while the legends remain legible. The second issue with the op is the gold content which looks highly debased at best. On the coins I am familiar with, by the time the gold no longer looks like gold, the figures are equally debased.

It's been years since I've owned any Late Kushan or Kidarite gold. Once upon a time (when gold was $300/ozt) they were actually affordable.

Images of the edge and the weight in grams would be helpful.

There is so much fake crap in the market these days that maybe I am overly cynical. For the op's sake, I hope so.
