Well, the title says it all. I'm pretty sure this is the small date, the weak "Liberty", and the fact that I bought it from someone I trust is what makes me about 98% sure.. That 2% of doubt comes from the fact that I was comparing it to another 1970S example where "Liberty" is strong, but I'm not sure I see much difference in the way the date looks.... I'm still training my eyes to be able to notice these subtle differences, which is why I paid for this example. I can look at photos all day, but its not the same as seeing it myself in person.  With Small Date The weak "LIBERTY" is also a sign of a Small Date. |

The bottom curl of the 9 confirms it. Also the 1970 is completely level at the top of the devises. Great find!

I don't think so. Check ebay and look at a bunch of the PCGS and NGC slabbed ones. John1 |

It is a small date. The die was heavily polished making the 19 look thinner on the date. Also the weakened Liberty.

Awesome!! Thank you for all your responses. According to the new Red Book an MS65 example goes for 55 bucks (I usually take Red Book prices with a grain of salt.), but Id call this one an MS65 maayybee an MS66 (Id also take that with a grain of salt, as I'm just learning to grade haha). But yall dont think its worth getting graded, right? |
