Doing a penny box hunt I came across several coins that were More Brassy in color than normal. I am wondering if there is something going on or this is just a mix problem.

Maybe these pic's don't relay the true color but it is definitely more yellow than normal.

Zinc blanks are sometimes accidentally dissolved into the copper bath used to plate them. This results in subsequent blanks being plated with brass (copper and zinc) instead of pure copper.

The zinc plated Lincolns all can be a variety of colors, quite normal.
