The edge of the area in question is extremely smooth, no visible tool marks. What say you?

The pics aren't quite sharp enough to say for certain, but I believe it's PMD.

Will post better pics soon, standby :-) what I dont get is why the edges are SO smooth, and there are zero tool marks from either a vice, pliers, etc. This one stands out to me. I'm confused! How was this done?

Looks PMD to me.
I don't see any blakesly effect or dovetail on the rim.
