Those lines are from cleaning. Must have used a Brillo pad. Only worth bullion now.

Thank you guys, The French Dealer insists it to be UNC. H

And the dealer may be right. Uncirculated and cleaned are not mutually exclusive conditions. We see uncirculated "details" coins on this forum quite often. UNC coins can be damaged and still be UNC.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning... -from PCGS website

DBM, this may be so as you say and if you take the term UNC literally at full value. It may be UNC as a coin. But definitely has been handled. and, in this case, IMO I would call that circulation. But maybe in France, they have a more liberal designation for UNC. then the question I would ask is: why was the coin subjected to such a process.

I will sometimes buy such a coin, but it would have to be a bit below ASW money. Despite most of the value being knocked off there is still enough good detail to be attractive to the World junk silver buyer. Nevertheless, I would agree that it could be kind of 'Unc'. As an aside, it it a small or large beads variety? That would make me think differently !

I wouldn't purchase a coin like this unless it was a small bead variety not at the asking price (bullion only).
Why would you want this coin when you can purchase much nicer coins of this year for less money.
