Picked this up for $30. I noticed the filler, and then the date. It looks 4/4 to me. The top left of the four, and the bottom right of the four on the date. Am I on the money, or are my eyes playing a horrible trick on me? Thank you!

Yes, it's an 1824/4 Type 2 (O-110). Obviously, the plugged hole really hurts the value.

I was hoping you didn't notice the the hole being filled lol. Can this be repaired, or would that be a waist of time? This is neat. Thank you for your time

I think that the hole can be plugged a little more discreetly, but this will always be a damaged coin. I'd leave it as-is--this coin has been well-loved and the plug is just part of that history.

Looks more than just plugged - the area around it seems pushed in from the reverse.

Thanks! I'm just gonna leave it like it is and put it away. Thought it was a ok price for just the history of the coin.

Did a tad more digging at PCGS. These where worn as jewelry for quick use of money if needed. Called a hole and plugged. That's what they called it.
