I know that its probably Machine Doubling, but the word Kansas looks very strange to me.
Thanks in advance for feedback.

That's classic Machine Doubling, since the lettering is incused. Remember die doubling will first take place in the center of the coin since the single squeeze hubbing process was put to use several years ago.

Also the mark on the forehead is damage from the edge of a reeded coin.

The DDO and DDRs are on the center areas of the designs.

For locations of where to look for the doubled dies, check out Wexler's site for the locations. Take a look and then you will know what areas to ignore and what areas to look at:
50 States:

ATB Quarters:

Save yourself a lot of time. Look at the areas where suggest on this site to know where to look. The ball games changed on the singe squeeze dies. Looking at other areas are a waste of time. All you'll see is Machine Doubling and die wear anywhere else.

Thanks a lot for the information. It certainly helps to hue down some of the stuff I've been holding on to.
Was afraid to let go for fear of throwing away something good.
Once again thanks to all of you.
