I got this a few days ago from a mate. These tourist dollars are probably why NZ ain't allowed to mint currency anymore. We made some interesting things that wernt money LOL

These were pretty common in the 80s and 90s and up to the 2000s. they had no monetary value, just metal souvenirs of an attraction. I think about 30 were issued in all. I have a couple for Kelly Tarletons, and Shotover Jet or something.

All of these tokens were 33mm, brass and had the map on one side with the attraction on the otherside. You can't get them now except in shops. They are not rare and are worth a couple of bucks each.

Often they were sold in some machine next to a penny squashing thing etc and those silly lolly machines that gave you like 4 M and Ms for 20 cents!

Military gave this coin away more then sold it but horded the majority and stored them away in a place called the Dungeon(military archive area). Ive seen these personally while working for the nzdf. I got this one from a deceased military Lt Colonels auction.
