Got this in change as a nickel. This one is plated obviously. I did a search here, but the last topic was in 2013. Has anyone seen this one? I did a google search, but it's just giving me images. Looking for a sight that would have more info. I would like to learn more about counter stamps. Thank you!

The topic from 2013 is the first thread to which everyone posts their counterstamps. Add yours there. Yours is cool, but if you got it as a nickel, you're owed 4 cents.

@minni, as far as more info goes, my recollection is that these souvenirs were part of the bicentennial celebrations and came glued onto a card--you can see an area of central discoloration on the back. I'm pretty sure that I've got one of these lying around and will post mine if I can find it.

Thanks Oldfordman. @Spence I did pick a hard chunk of glue off the steps of the coin. Looks like the glue took some of the plating up top of the memorial before I got it.

Here is my version of the same coin. Looks like someone used steak knife to try to remove the adhesive. Not plated like your was though...

It is called a Bicentennial Penny and it did come on a card with a whole bunch of historical facts. I too have one with the card.

As far as Lincoln Cent counterstamps go, these aren't super common but there are still many out there. Worth a buck to a counterstamp collector maybe.

Who did this, or what company made this counterstamp? I only have one other and that's a 2002 Indiana state stamped DR JONES

Probably Littleton Coins. Your Dr. Jones stamp sounds cool.

There is no producer name on the card I have. Must have been on the packaging.

I will be searching for the card for these coins. Might find one. I got the Cheerios 2000 penny still on the card. Bothers me to not know if it is a WAM or not. @Spence I want the unplated one now.

They are hard to find crh if that is what you mean. Otherwise just go to the Littleton website or ebay.
