1908 1 Cent, 80 Year Old Friend Asked: What Can You Tell Me About This Coin

47P7 Pillar of the Community Canada 1505 Posts	Posted 07/14/2021 10:12 pm My friend is 80 going on 81 and survived a stroke. so, I was not sure, except that it was 1908, and a relatively nice-looking coin. They had both a small and a large legend, as well as small/large. I can't tell what this one is There's a nice article/study done on the coin, I think by SPP, but I may be wrong. There are some varieties that deal with the spacings of the digits. It's an MS coin and been well-kept. There are some minor repunches on some of the varieties to the C, T, E & 0. The obverse looks almost like a specimen but I suspect it is more likely a nearly "first strike" die. The reverse with the weak rims is obviously not a specimen.
