i found it on the ground and I tried a few different coin recognizer apps and nothing similar came up so I was hoping someone here might know anything about it.

Reproduction of a widow's mite.
You can buy them by the bag for about $20.
Great if you teach Sunday school.

Correct. It's a machine-struck mass-produced replica of an ancient Judaean lepton, or prutah, the coin mentioned in the Biblical story of the Poor Widow's Offering. As mentioned in various other forum posts where these enigmatic replica coins keep appearing, they are sold in bulk by religious supplies stores. Here's one on Etsy selling a bag of 50 of them for US$13. These replicas are rather poorly designed, and quite flat - they appear to have their design derived from a photograph or drawing of a mite, rather than an actual coin.

Genuine "Widow's mites" are fairly common, but are not as cheap as their common-ness would ordinarily see, because of that "biblical coin" connection.
