Hi All,

Hoping someone on the forum can provide some info on this unknown medallion. Have tried Google search with no luck.

Weight = 40.4 grams

Diameter = 48 mm

Either Bronze, Brass or Copper.

Also it has the date 1982 on it.

Would appreciate just getting to know what this item is.

Thanks in advance for any assistance in identifying for me.

Regards,

Mikehy

I saw the side with 1982 (looks like 1987 to me a little)
Since those are the only text I can find, they are the best clues for me to help out. Please clarify text.

I can't read the side that looks like this at all.

I agree that there might be a little more text that we can't quite read. By the way, are they playing volleyball?

If it were dated 1987 maybe they are singing "We are the World"
1982, maybe "I'd like to buy the world a Coke"?

Hi TNG and Spence,

Thanks for the responses.

The side you queried the writing appears to be 19Z.U82.
the writing on the other side looks like Z.U 1982/7. looks more like a 2 though.

What looks like a volley ball I think is supposed to be the moon and the planets and stars.

Hope this helps a little more.

Is that possibly the DNA Double Helix in the first pic?

It looks very amateurish, certainly not made with 1980's medal making technology so I'm guessing it is a hand made item. With a DNA strand, tree's etc and a couple I would be thinking a commemorative for wedding? successful IVF? I don't think we'll ever know the real reason it was made.
