Ok so I think I finally may have found something unique.. I've looked at it a million times til my head hurt, and pretty sure this is a machine error based on the precision of the mark. Notice on the face of Washington at the right angle it looks as though he's a zombie/ mutilated,BUT also see the marking are precise and seem to resemble another coin design.. (yet to figure that out). Same with the lower part of the neck area. You can see the outlines of people/buildings/and what looks like a boat? As for the reverse side, the signs words are mostly gone, not chiseled or scratched off, but like machine made designs as well.... parts of where things should be are blank and looks to also be printed Ted o. Other side where marks are missing... It also looks as though it has the extra leaf error and a few die breaks if I'm fiy seeing things. To me this truly ooko unique and different... on both sides. Anyone think I might have something here or am I just seeing unusual damage as per usual lol.. Edited by Mzeek17 07/16/2021 3:44 pm

What would cause damage like that? No proof of letters ever being there, and only visible from a darkened angle...plus I swear I've seen the image that's above the DO in dollar.
I see designs in the "damage".Do you see anything other than scratches? I left zoom room to magnify

The Washington could have been soldered on then sanded/ground down. The reverse seems to have been lightly attacked using an angle grinder. There are infinite ways that this could be damage. If you do not believe this please list me a way it could be an error.

The error looks as though it was imprinted with more than one design, like an artist painting over a former painting to cover it up when they couldn't afford new ones and such.
I thought it was the missing design on the back, hit onto the front, hence the machine type damage look. Is it possible maybe it got stuck and hit onto the next coin after it? Thus leaving that pattern over Washington, and not completing the back, Which maybe also was broken I'm the Strike itself, resulting in a refractive surface.. I wish I could post a video, it really looks amazing, and unique. I feel it's definately some sort of an error. The damage is too perfect to be man-made or weathered.
Isn't there so.e way in which something like this happens? Looks like maybe it was wirebrushed or polished before stiking but the design never stuck on the back...
Is it within the realm of possibility at least lol? I'm New to this and hoping for something cool to keep me interested... I I found a quarter with the eagle looking lime Rambo on the back with a "strap" across his shoulder, I believe the curve line

I'm in with post strike damage. The coin didn't leave the striking chamber in this condition--my opinion only.
If you feel this is a legit mint error coin, suggest submitting to a reputable third party assessment/grading service, or someone at error-ref dot com, or copper coins dot com.

I'm hoping it is, if nothing else it's really cool looking, a zombie George on front and a mice row if refractive surfaces, making a perfect sunset veiwed at one spot! Lol

Honestly, if you take a look at the newer pics I just uploaded, it looks like it was designed without a banner, was there a previous design that didn't include it all? The lines look normal with the design of just the mountain range, etc...

It doesn't really matter what caused the damage and sometimes unless you were there, it is impossible to know. The main thing is that there is no way that would happen during the striking of the coin so it is PMD.

Intentional post mint damage ( PMD). Damage is damage regardless how it's made. Someone took this coin's numismatic value away. Nothing more to say as this coin is ruined.
