I am currently searching info on this coin. Information on when the coin was recovered, historical factor, and even how it ended up in a slab. One on ebay for auction is all I have found, nothing on Heritage, or PCGS. Would someone be so kind to point me in the right direction. Thank you!

Just guessing here cause I don't really know. TPG's will slab just about anything if you pay them to do it. In this case, you would be buying the slab more than the coin in it.

I would of thought with PCGS high standards and reputation it would be the opposite of that. I know in all of the grade companies there are questionable coins, but to just slab coins and label them WTC ground zero would tarnish there reputation or put them out of business.
Thanks for the link. That got me to post for more info on this coin. I only found one and it was up for auction with 11 bids already. All other types are going for over a $100. I picked this up for way way less then that.

The mass market mindset behind these companies typically forgets PCGS, NGC., etc. are businesses. Even their primary goal behind posting great educational resources online is not for hobby promotion as much as it is for their main goal of making a profit. There is nothing wrong with that ...they are businesses! "Reputation" has to be tempered with "business reality" for the best picture.

A businessman working for a coin grading business would know there would be a market for WTC labeled SLABS containing coins. When $$ signs get involved, a lot of the time other things go out the window.

Some people might actually look at a WTC label positively as a reminder, when going through their collection, of that inhumane and heinous attack on fellow Americans.

@Earle that is the exact reason I got this coin. For the historical fact, education, to never forget. I can see the business aspects to SLAB these coins, but with there reputation I would not think they just slab anything.
