This LWE appears to me as DDO. The closest reference is VV 1941-DDO-026, 26-0-VI.
Extra thickness and minor separation on 9 & 4 of the date.
Vertical bar on 4 and right side of the 9. That greased out last numeral on the date, pretty fat had it struck. Perhaps the grease broadened it.
My biggest problem is lack of markers. I am not sure about this die state. This example , in my humble opinion, borders between AU & MS. The fields are nearly spotless.
Hoping someone can help me out.

The only reason for the image ofthe top left wheat ear is the chip/hit location. It is about the only possible marker I was able to fabricate.
Let me know what you think.

Looks like DDO-026 to me as well. That gouge in the wheat ear is a good die marker.

Nice find, definitely extra thickness on the stem of the 9. Haven't done the research, but definitely trust Tanman if he thinks 026.

Thanks to all for the confirmation. Extra thickness on the devices is the most difficult to detect from my experience. The condition of the coin made it somewhat easier.
Any opinions on the last 1 in the date?
Again,thanks for the feedback.

Looks like a lightly, Grease Filled Die.

Nice doubled die and coin!
