@king, there are some folks who collect coins with countermarks and so it adds value to them. For folks who don't though, this is just interesting looking damage. For me, finding a coin with a countermark is 2x2-worthy, but I don't go out of my way to purchase them.

It's called a "Counterstamp" some people collect them, but to others it's just post mint damage ( PMD). Do a CCF search on them (box in the upper left of every page here on CCF).

Here is a counteerstamp collection. Some people will pay extra to collect them. Me, I like them but have not gone out of my way to buy them. When I do find one I will keep it.
