New to this so I apologize if my post is off. I noted a palm tree like image just under the gold 100 stamp on a 2009 A 100 Dollar note. I have tried to do some research regarding what the image represents. Does anyone have any information?

This very subject recently came up (I forget the thread), and as I recall we thought that it was money changers overseas who put their stamp of approval (literally) on these notes, and that collectors of such call them chop marks (similar idea to the chop marks of silver coins some time ago).

Thank you for the reply! I did catch that, just odd the stamp is behind the 100 dollar gold mark. That being said the ink stamp may not have adhered to the 100 gold stamp if it overlapped.

The stamp is actually on top of the 100 - the ink just won't adhere to the printing.
