It's damaged for starters, and I could not pull anything from the missing digit in Photoshop, so it could be a lot of things.
Funny how that damage is in the perfect place for speculation, and I'm always skeptical of fuzzy mintmarks.

I do not see VDB on the shoulder; but if I zoom the image, it looks manipulated in that area.

Regardless of what date it was or could possibly be, it is not worth bidding on. Yet did you see how many did bid on the thing?

Yeah Carl...what's wrong with people? I guess everyone believes in "the deal".
To meet the demand, I can only guess there's a cottage industry developed to take avg. coins and damage them to resemble key dates.

This looks like a photoshop job....It looks like he used the little tool that drags the colors around and smeared the date...
