Hi, I'm on Long Island, and find it hard to get new rolls of quarters and president dollars from my local banks. Are there any members here from my area that can recommend any bank in the area that is "collector" friendly? I try to get 8-10 rolls of each to hopefully find a few ms67-68 grade coins for my collection. Have thought of buying the direct ship from the mint, since it sems to be done at face vlue, no shipping. any thoughts?

If you want 10 rolls, do the direct ship from the mint.

Becky is right go direct. It is sure easier anyway. I have the owner of the hardware store where my wife works talked into getting them for the register so I'll just get mine there. If you know someone with a business you can try that to eliminate any risk of in transit theft or tying up $250.00 for a short period.

The presidet dollar are direct ship for face value and no charge for shipping. The quarters though have to be purchased at a premium and you DO have to pay for shipping.

Keep asking at your bank, or buy them from a dealer or on ebay.

For pres dollars you should be able to find a bank that has a few. Usually they will order a box when they first come out so if you start visiting everyday on release date for about a week you'll probably get first dibs. Other ideas find a nice teller. When you are in the bank on other visits such as depositing your paycheck. (Usually when your handing them money they're in a better mood.) Ask the manager to order you a box on next weeks order. Now this would require a lot of upfront money but you can take the ones you want.

Then you can go to another bank and return the ones you don't won't. (Don't hand the teller that ordered them for you back half or more of the box. They may be angry and not do it for you again) Or you could see if a local dealer wanted the extras at face. (Never could hurt to be on their good side.) Once you get 50 posts you could sell/trade them on here.

Best part in this there is no premium like ebay or a dealer. Good Luck.

Direct Ship ? I have heard of people saying you can get the new Dollars shipped to you at no cost using Direct Ship.

I have been purchasing things from the US MINT for years way to much :)

But see no option for Direct Ship for the new coins?

Where is this option located (Thanks)
