The incuse date is below the line of damage, that's why it doesn't show in the letters. I think everyone has been thrown off by this type of damage at one time or another. This coin was on the end of the roll when it was wrapped. The crimping jaws made contact with the highest point and damaged the coin as it turned. Just a spendable coin with no collectable value now.
