Hello. New to the site. Have found a 2005 california quarter that appears to have a mint mark error in that it looks as if a p was stamped over a d. I've found that it's said there are no known errors for this coin. So I'm looking for some advice I guess. I'll try for better images but it can be seen.

. Can not be a RPM= re punched mint mark because they stopped in 1990. Looks like a damaged mint mark from circulation.

As stated, it is impossible to have a P/D mm in 2005.
It is what is known as PMD (Post Minting Damage)

@cke, first welcome to CCF. Second, I think this coin has damage plus pareidolia--for me it is a spender.
