Hi All,

Just recently I found this one in a big lot. A enormeous large heavy plaquette or prestige issue? Perhaps issued for important meetings?

The portret looks similair to Louis XIV the sun king. Shown on liard bronzes 1655 as example

The diameter is near 60 mm.

Interesting piece. I've done a bit of digging, and have come up completely empty. Hopefully some of the experts (which I'm not) can give you some additional information.

Appears to be cast pewter. (I stand to be corrected).
That's OK.
Lots of medals of around this vintage were cast.

Interesting medal.
Looks like it may have been on a necklace at one time
as you can see where the hole was filled.
