No. That is extreme die wear called "Ridge Ring." The die metal is breaking down forming this ring that eventually envelops the depth of the devices, leaving them looking thinner on that area of the Ridge Ring. When the die was fresh, it didn't look like. Just like when we were young, we didn't have wrinkles. They come with age. That is what the die is going through now. Just a die event issue.
