I have a 2020 d dime that has a sharp raised edge like the one described. I will try to get a picture to post here asap. I wouldn't mention it if it were not a really noticabely sharp edge. Maybe I won't have to post the picture if this is a relatively common thing seen on coins?

Thanks in advance.

I have looked at the roll the coin came from and practically every coin has this edge. It must be common. I also checked new quarter rolls, same effect. Is there a new process for making the coins? I do not see it on older coins, only the newer coins. I must have jumped the gun. My apologies.

First thing, my camera lens is crap. I need to buy a new one. Having said that, this is the best I could do for the edge. It looks a little weird to me. Until I get a new camera, my pics will be pretty lame. The lens came from the manufacturer with the blur. Any suggestions as to which type I should buy and where to find one? My thanks.

what kind of camera are you using? Is that a USB microscope? I bought a USB micro and first started using it with real crappy pics until I discovered that there was an almost invisible (clear) lens cover over the opening. Once I popped it off, it takes clear pics....

The edge looks like MAD.

Not a MAD That would be part of a tilted die issue with a small Rim Fin. The rim has some flattening, so it is not a premium for this on your coin.

Interesting. I just keep learning here. Now some of my MAD's may be rim fins. Thanks for the info Coop.

Dearborn, yes it is a usb microscope camera. I will try to take off the lens or lenscover. I think you may be right. I tried to clean up the plastic thinking it might have oil on it. It is probably just a crappy cover messing up the image. Thank you for the heads up. If this is the problem, you just saved me the $20 bucks I paid for the darned thing. You guys are very knowledgeable and I love to learn things from people who share that knowledge.

Coop, thank you for the images. They make it easy to see what my coin isn't. One thing for sure... it will come in handy for doing my scratchers.
