Some of you may remember this coin that I posted a little over 2 months ago. I always wanted a PO-01 Morgan just because I didn't have one. And a PO-01 Morgan is only a PO-01 if it's officially graded that way, otherwise it's just a cull. I Bought it raw and ungraded for $30. and convinced myself that it might be a CC, and I posted it here at the CCF and made my CC case, and many if not most of you saw it differently. Well PCGS values an 1889 CC Morgan at $800. and one just recently sold at ebay for $855., so I decided it was worth the gamble to spend another $50 and get it graded ................ and as it turned out, PCGS thinks it's an O just like many of you.

If you want to read the original comments or see the coin enlarged out of the holder before I sent it off, here's the link to the original post ....... http://goccf.com/t/399421&SearchTer...uaihawaiiguy

So I don't have a $800 PO-01 after all, but looking at ebay past sales I see that two PO-01 1889 O's sold only last week, one in a NGC slab and one in a PCGS holder and they sold for $127.50 and $150., at least I'm not behind.

So comments and opinions on the coin or either of the posts appreciated as always.

I think you got a very good result, perhaps not the one you were hoping for, but it's excellent that they were able to identify the mintmark and gave it a straight graded PO-1. I wasn't convinced it would be gradable.

Congratulation on getting a graded PO1. You were correct on the PO1 grade and got a nice value on your submission without the CC mint mark.
