coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 07/31/2021 1:30 pm The master hub was swelling that year and they had to recreate a new master hub. When the hubs swells, it passes that down the chain of command down the line: It is not just the size of the devices, but the location of the devices move towards the rim and even the bust can be affected. Note the differences between the 1982 and 1983 quarters: Seeing them side by side helps us to see the differences. Report this Post to the Staff

If they had changed in the middle of the year, they would have have a large and small date quarter. But they waited until the next year to fix the swollen master hub issue.
