Looks like PMD to me. Your white balance looks like it might be out of adjustment. Please crop photos properly before posting...thanks.

I'm thinking post strike damage. Large and sharp (and better lit) photos may help in determining what's going on.

Hi. I've posted this before. But, in doing some research, I came upon an article regarding that showed a penny with the same situation as this one. Referred to it as "Capped Die". Then said see Die Cap. Just wondering if this could possibly be the same case scenario?

Just post mint damage ( PMD). Looks to be intentionally damaged.
