Hello, curious about a coin I found earlier yesterday. It is a 1967 no mint mark penny. Not sure if no mint or is it nicked. Or not sure if the b is a E.any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

to the CCF!

None of the coins minted in the US have mint marks for the years 1965, 1966 and 1967. The Coinage Act of 1965 was enacted to discourage coin collecting due to a coin shortage after the mint changed from 90% silver to cupronickel clad coins. They also didn't mint any proof sets for these years. The mint marks were added back in 1968.

@east, first welcome to CCF. Second, with regard to the B in LIBERTY, it looks like this area might have taken a stray hit from circulation. I don't think that it is a mint error.

A "B" cannot turn into an "E" during the striking of a coin.
It is just damage, probably from taking a hit sometime
during the last 54 years.

For future reference, if you mention a questionable mintmark, you probably should show us a closeup photo of the issue. Just a thought.
