It has Cracked Rim on both sides and Partial lettering in some spots on both sides? The rim looks like it is almost gone above the last letter S in States ? The shape of the Snake ? And the F.G Initials almost 100% gone? I would really appreciate some info on this please
IMO...Both obv and rev. shows signs of a MAD (mis-aliened die) or tilted die, often the result on a single side but not on both. Use the search box to find more examples...good luck
I've got to disagree with coop on this one. "Pretty much a normal coin" Yes on the wear and not a really big deal on the FG initials (yes-caused by an over-polished die) But the OPs main question was about the coins rims and I stick with my answer.
Normal in the sense, as a circulation damaged coin. Die polishing affects the fields. Field reduction makes the sub devices go away first. Thus the weakening on the some of the devices. (Die events). But sometimes they really get worked over: But most of the raised devices on this coin are distorted from circulation. So to me it a normal damaged coin with a possible die event.
