Is that the true color of the coin? I see some attachment on the right of the coin. A overpolished die like this is only worth a premium in MS/BU condition. No premium here.

Oldfordman The color is close. The coin was pretty dull and these color signals in the single Chip cameras use a Bayer filter to generate Red Blue & Green levels to derive a color image. Professional cameras have three chips to generate a true color image. You get what you pay for!

Once upon a time this was true, but an overabundance of these has taken away the market for them.

I have 2 one in au-55 and the other a MS-62-63 range I found crh. I find plenty worse ones but those go to the copper scrap bucket.

I would say it qualifies as a "floating roof."

But just a common over polishing issue. You can see this on many die examples during that time. Back the die punisher worked there.

I just consider these as die events. The die was normal and then altered by a mint worker.
