1714 Coin-Cant Seem To Find Info On This-Please Help!

Here is one for sale at cgb.fr. The 1774-Q had a mintage of over half a million and is more common than the 1771-Q.

If this was a US coin from 18th century, I would say it looks like it had adjustment marks. I have no idea if the country of issue used adjustment marks, if not, then there's some serious damage (or some thief trying to scrape off some silver for himself).

Adjustment marks are commonly encountered on French silver coins from about 1645 to 1792. These are not too bad, since the portrait is largely intact.

The mint mark Q (located under the wreath ribbon on the reverse) seems to be nearly illegible. However the heart in the reverse legend and the incuse triangle within the circle under the bust (mint director's marks) are sufficient to identify the mint. There is a bump or edge defect at 10 o'clock on the obverse. There may also be some hairlines from an old cleaning in the obverse fields. However, the Louis XV Old Heads are notoriously hard to find in really nice condition. I think this one would sell on ebay for around $120-$150.
