1977 Roosevelt dime possible error coin that to me appears like it was struck with too much pressure and that squeezed the sides higher.

The edge is smooth by the way, which is why I was assuming it got squeezed out in the die press.

If it is an error coin how would I figure out its value?

If it is just some weird counterfeit coin how would I know for sure?

your coin is damaged, it was either spooned, or spent some time in a dryer..Definitely not counterfeit ..

You can see the reeded edge is missing, and that was done by someone or something after it left the mint..

Sorry, no added value.

Thanks, that was a fast response. I still think it's neat so back in the box it goes.

Thanks again for your replies
