I could live with that Statehood Quarter! That place is more famous than Las Vegas and a lot more mystery involved!

No, they're novelty items, apparently over-stikes on existing quarters.

Actually, according to ones beliefs, there may be more to that quarter than we presently know? Some very interesting reading available for those who want to "dare" to think reality is not what we assume!

Art Bell is also W6OBB, an active amateur radio operator as am I (K2FRD, VO2FS). If the coin (or an image) is sent to Art, it might be the culmination of my dreams: the combination of both my hobbies, coins and ham radio.

Morgan Fred's post brought back memories.

At the tender age of 10 I made my first trip to California. My brother and I traveled by train. Relatives lived in Albany and Berkely. First time to see the Ocean. First time to see TV. And, first experience with Ham Radio. My uncle was a radio operator, and I remember talking to my parents back in Colorado and telling them the trip was going well. I still remember his call letters: W6RDA.

I hope your right! It's depressing to think that planet earth might be as good as it gets.

Morgan Fred I sent Art Bell some Photobucket links of the quarter. If he likes it maybe he'll post the scans on the site.

Ohhhh Noooo, there's a secret message on it. The second line says "In Education" and I think the line above it says that too. There is also a date about the first line--1848. Right at the base of the neck and lined up with the U in quarter you can clearly see the 4.
