I am concerned about the everted lettering and numbers as seen on both sides, but true doubling can be seen on the reverse. I'd love to hear Mike Diamond's take on this coin. I would also encourage the owner of this coin to send it into PCGS for verification. IF real, it might be worth big bucks!

Looks like it was altered with a soft die. If it were a doubled die, the rims would be normal shape. They are not. Just an altered coin.
