Both near. Compare the space/gap between the 3 & the 2 with the gap between the 2 and the leaf. If the same, it's near.

Hi,

I'm going through some old coins and was looking for some opinions on whether this 1932 Canadian Nickel is a near or far 2. Also any comments on grade would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Bill

In order to better evaluate for anyone,
please use the exact distance, coin to the lens, and the same lens and camera setting, same lighting.
these are two different images with different values and there are differences. If these are what you are looking for?, you will need to decide yourself as there are quite a few photos and drawings of the markers already in this forum, including definite ways to identify the 2 variants.
look close, and one could say these are two different rev dies. Even considering metal flow.

As I stated before, you don't need markers or arrows. If the gaps between the 2 and leaf and the 3/2 gap are the same, then it's near. You can tell that at nearly an arm's length.
