One of my last rolls, this roll looked like someone make shift put it together with a white piece of paper, the coin looks like something has been done to it, what would you say the grade of this is?

Looks like the coin has some emerging lamination issues--cool. It's possible an attempt was made to clean the coin long ago.

I think the linear features are emerging lamination issues--emphasis on emerging. I have a few dozen early wheat cents with a very similar look. Running a soft bristle or worn toothpick at a 90 degree angle across the feature should yield a very slight bumpiness. If using a toothpick, don't press, just lightly drag it.

Eye appeal 5/10 , dirty coin . Verdigris and corrosive green running wild throughout . Reverse has some rim issues . VF-25-30 Details . Might have been cleaned long ago .

Wrekkdd asked... Quote: So is the coin corroding? Not corroding, it's more like the improper alloy is beginning to separate from the coin. If it is a lamination problem, it may even get to a point where some of the metal peels off, leaving the fresh metal from deeper in the coin exposed.

A completely original coin, don't mess with it! Looks like honest use and wear then sat for a few decades. It's a miracle it's not covered in verdigris, appears to have been improperly stored. Nonetheless....
It's a WOODY! See how when you flip the coin the direction of the grains is like a mirror image. Forum search "woody".

VF-25 sounds right. Worth about 10 cents if you tried to sell it.

Thanks guys, and this is my only example of and older American penny so no intention of selling it:p I was hoping to find a pre 1937 Canadian penny in my rolls but no luck.
