Just wondering if this was some type of error on this quarter or is it just damage? I am new to coin collecting so I am not quite sure.

@bmo, for sure this quarter is damaged. We usually ascribe that bubbling in front of George's eye to be damage from high heat.

There is no way that could have happened during the striking of the coin so it is PMD

and I agree, not an error. High heat like a camp fire or a house fire.

to damage and heat.

This coin looks strangely similar to another that was posted up a few weeks ago that we attributed to heat as well with bubbling in the same area on the field. Hmm...
