Framed Coin Question - Coin Community Forum

Hollywood Pillar of the Community United States 1228 Posts	Posted 01/11/2009 3:29 pm I have some coins in a coin board and framed in glass hanging on the wall my question is over time will they become damaged there out of the sunlight Report this Post to the Staff

Some of the materials framing your coins could always break down in sunlight or "outgas" and react and/or leave deposits. Report this Post to the Staff
malissadawn Pillar of the Community Canada 1931 Posts	Posted 01/11/2009 10:50 pm I have put together, framed and hung up lots of sets over the years and have had no ill effects of the coins being damaged by sun. Biggest concern would be how strong is the frame. I did have one set of quarters fall of the wall when my daughter bounced a ball and the coins went from high grade specimens to scratched to bits from the glass shattering. Even with the risk.... I much prefer beautiful coins on my walls instead of pictures on my walls. Report this Post to the Staff
