I think it is a type 1 due to the narrow ridge along the spine of the 'S' but, it also displays a clear area in the center of each loop of the S in stead of being filled.

Note the lower serif that has the flat edge there? That is what you have.

Save as many images as I post. But leave the badge ID on them. (keep everyone from having copyright issues) But save them for your personal references. Why? Because when you don't and you have to search back for them, you don't have to visit the kicking machine:

Thanks for posting, Dearborn and for the pics, Coop. I had to re-educate myself on this variety, been awhile since I have seen one but remembered the blunt tale of the S was my go to for the type-1, after checking out Coops pics.
